I love Symphony in White. Every time I see it, it makes me think of Little Red Riding Hood- except this time she wears white, and then stands on the wolf’s corpse instead of being eaten. Innocence trumps the wild once again!

Thanks for the comment. Wow, I love your interpretation! Actually, I just saw this piece in person at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. It’s overwhelming in person — a much larger piece than it appears on the internet! I’m a big Wilkie Collins fan, so I can’t help but think of her as his “Woman in White.”
