Monday

1. Arrive Heathrow at 5:05 p.m.
2. Take the Heathrow Express, and then taxi to hotel.
3. I think I may get to my hotel around 8 p.m. Hotel is near Russell Square. Check into hotel and get situated.
4. Ask the concierge for a dinner recommendation near the hotel. Or…
5. Simon of shipscooksstuff.wordpress.com has kindly offered to “show [me] some of Soho’s pubs and give [me] some background on [his] home city.” So sweet! Hopefully, we’ll meet up either Monday or Thursday.

Tuesday: Special Event Day!

1. Before 10 a.m., explore Russell Square and surrounding neighborhood.
2. 10 a.m.: David Bowie is at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Afterwards, explore the V&A. Ask information desk about the “…four of Blake’s ‘fresco’ paintings on display permanently” as well as Arts & Crafts/William Morris and other must-sees.
3. Lunch: The Queen’s Arms and/or the V&A Cafe.
4. After V&A, Tate Britain: The new Blake room will open on May 6th. Ask information desk about the Pre-Raphaelites. Perhaps take a 45-minutes free collection highlights tour at 11, 12, or 3. 
5. Leave some time to relax and possibly nap in the late afternoon.
6. 7:30 p.m.: G. E. Gallas Invited to Speak to The Blake Society! at 17 South Molton Street.

Wednesday: Touring Around!

1. If exhausted from Tuesday, sleep in a little bit.
2. 10 a.m.: National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, or return to a museum from the previous day.
3. Lunch: Eat somewhere near/in museums.
4.  1 p.m.: Harrods Vintage Bus Tour of London with Champagne Tea at Harrods – Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, The London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square, Nelson’s Column, Hyde Park, the Houses of Parliament, The Royal Albert Hall, a cruise on the River Thames, and tea/scones at Harrods (until 6 p.m.).
   
5. 7/7:30 p.m.: Jack the Ripper Tour (option #1, option #2, or option #3).

Thursday: Blake’s London!

1. My friend Elena may come up from Barcelona for the day to see me! 
2. 10 a.m.: British Museum –  Department of Prints and Drawings, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, etc.
3. Lunch: Tea and Tattle (41 Great Russell Street) or London Review Cake Shop (14 Bury Place).
4. Blake historical sites: (a) St. James’s Church, (b) Royal Academy New Somerset House, (c) St. Mary’s Battersea, and (d) Bunhill Fields.
5. Either National Portrait Gallery (open to 9 p.m.) or  pubs with Simon.

Friday

• Depart: Back to San Francisco!

Sunday, December 16th

1. Went to see The Hobbit with Wes and the folks! I was a major fan of The Lord of the Rings films when they first came out (and still am), so of course I was (and still am) super excited for The Hobbit. Even my dad, who was skeptical and didn’t really want to come, loved the movie (and even shed tears at the bromance between Bilbo and Thorin, I kid you not). (^-^) I know this is bizarre, but I think my favorite part was when the Great Goblin’s secretary cackled as he ziplined through the air!
2. Wes is so sweet and got me a Rose Vampire figurine from Super7 – IT’S SO CUTE!

Monday, December 17th

1. Signed up with Behance.net: www.behance.net/gegallas.
2. Worked on The Flea script.

Wednesday, December 19th

1. As usual, great meeting with Gabe. Working out the next few steps for Elias & The City of Cats and thinking about our future projects.
   
2. 2:30 p.m.: Phone interview with The American Pavilion for the Cannes Film Program. I think it went pretty well. I’ll be hearing from them this Friday. Wish me luck!
3. Came up with a really cool idea for The Blanks screenplay collaboration. Wrote an e-mail to Gabe and waiting to hear what he thinks!

Thursday, December 20th

1. E-mails, e-mails, e-mails…!
2. Applied to the Creative World Awards (a screenwriting competition). For more information, click here.
3. Worked on The Flea script.
4. Did some more research on fellowships/internships/jobs.

• The Poet and the Flea: 60 pages of written script (1 page of script = 4-6 illustrated pages), and about 36 pages (1-24, 27-30 completed, and 25-26, 31-36 in progress) of illustrated work.

Here is some information on my works…!

Full-length Screenplays

1. No Longer Human: A story of obsession. Inspired by the deaths of the artists Jeremy Blake and Theresa Duncan.
2. Valentine: A retelling of Alexandre Dumas’s The Count of Monte Cristo, focused on the story of Maximilian Morrel and Valentine de Villefort.
3. The Man Who Never Smiled: A contemporary film noir.
4. Houdini & Conan Doyle: An exploration of the friendship, falling-out, and rivalry between the escape artist Harry Houdini and the creator of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Short Screenplays

1. Robots Are a Girl’s Best Friend is the story of a troubled middle-aged man who attends a Halloween party dressed as Marilyn Monroe. A life-changing encounter with an “inanimate object” helps him come to terms with his identity.
2. Death Is No Bad Friend: Based on the life and works of Robert Louis Stevenson. Robert Louis attempts to escape his guilty conscience through honeymooning on Mount Saint Helena. But his illness catches up, forcing him to face his demons.

Fiction

1. “Go Jump in the Lake”: The precursor to Who is Laurence Harvey? An imagining of Laurence Harvey’s experience on the set of The Manchurian Candidate (1962). During filming in Manhattan, Larry is required to jump into the frozen waters of the Lake in Central Park. With this feat looming over his head, he questions his ability to cope with the pressure.
2. “Robots Are a Girl’s Best Friend” (See above.)
3. “Bludgeoning The Walrus”: A ‘60s period piece about a movie set designer who is fed up with his lecherous, big-shot boss.
4. “Ulysses in Hell”: An account from the perspective of the hero Ulysses as he burns in Dante’s Inferno.
5. “Coin-operated Golem”: Inspired by “A Supermarket in California” by Allen Ginsberg.
6. “The Ink Drinker”: A dystopian story about a young girl who learns the truth about an outcast of society.
7. “The Scar Still Hurts” (In Progress)
8. “The Man with a Television for a Head” (In Progress)

Brief Update

Here is a brief update on my current creative projects and endeavors…!

1. The Poet and the Flea: yesterday, received package with new art supplies, hurrah.
2. Temporarily putting The Poet and the Flea and the Jeremy Blake/Theresa Duncan screenplay aside to work on a new project…
3. New Project: transforming my short story entitled “Robots Are a Girl’s Best Friend” into a 5-8 page script!! Been working on this for the past few days and hopefully will complete in the next few days.
4. Decided to put jukepopserials.com on the back burner…
5. Yesterday, discovered BBC Writers Room!! The only problem is that I don’t live in the U.K. BUT they seem to occasionally have international opportunities, exhibit A: International Radio Playwrighting Competition 2012. Signed up for their newsletter and will keep my peepers peeled.

• Complete script for Robots Are a Girl’s Best Friend.
• Apply to the Bluecat Screenplay Competition
• Apply to The American Zoetrope Screenplay Contest

Brief Update

Here is a brief update on my current creative projects and endeavors…!

1. Just registered Who is Laurence Harvey? and The Golden Curator with Writers Guild of America, West.
2. Applied to The Austin Film Festival Screenplay & Teleplay Awards. Information updated on “Applications” post, here.
3. Death Is No Bad Friend: Completed screenplay draft intended for short film (14 pages) this past Sunday.
4. The Poet and the Flea: Too hot to draw, so I intend to work on the script over the next few days.
5. Jeremy Blake/Theresa Duncan Screenplay: I intend to work on this as well.
6. New Idea: jukepopserials.com. Have to think about it. May try and submit a revamped version of my short story entitled “Inside the Display Case” about a Siberian pit viper named Peter.

Brief Update

Here is a brief update on my current creative projects and endeavors…!

The Poet and the Flea, graphic novel: 16 pages of written script (1 page of script = 4-6 illustrated pages), and about 18 pages of illustrated work in progress. I am almost half way towards my goal of 40 pages. When I reach 40 pages, I will begin to post the graphic novel online. My first post will include 5 pages and I will update at least once a week following that. Also, working on constructing a tumblr page and a kickstarter.com profile.

New Screenplay!!: I began working on a new screenplay intended for a short film. The screenplay is entitled Death Is No Bad Friend and is about Robert Louis Stevenson (Treasure Island, The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde) in San Francisco.

To Do:

• Register current screenplays through Writers Guild of America.
• Apply to The Austin Film Festival Screenplay & Teleplay Awards before May 15th.
