The Flea’s First Fan Art!

Yesterday, I was incredibly excited to discover that the awesome Ms. Blake Woodruff of imoutoart.wordpress.com (I’ll call her Ms. Woodruff as to not get confused with Mr. Blake!) posted a fan art of my graphic novel The Poet and the Flea. As far as I know, this is the first ever fan art of The Flea and feels like a huge milestone in The Flea‘s progress!!

I asked Ms. Woodruff for permission to repost her illustration here on my blog (see below) and hope that all my readers/followers will take a look at the impressive work on her blog and website!

I especially admire the deep colors/tones she used for this piece and get a total kick out of The Flea lurking in the background!

Next, I plan on creating a fan art page on thepoetandtheflea.wordpress.com and will post Ms. Woodruff’s piece there as well.

I wholeheartedly welcome all The Poet and the Flea fan art and would be more than delighted to showcase your work on my blog!

Brief Update

Here is a brief update on my current creative projects and endeavors…!

  1. Robots Are a Girl’s Best Friend: Continuing correspondence between me and Cassie. Revisions finished last Friday. Can’t wait to film later this year!!
  2. The Poet and the Flea: Haven’t had time to work this week. Hoping to get more done next week, starting Tuesday-ish! [27 pages of written script (1 page of script = 4-6 illustrated pages), and about 26 pages (1-6 completed, and 6-26 in progress) of illustrated work.]
  3. Tuesday, sent an e-mail to Playground Pictures. They sound like a really cool group, and I think I could gain some great experiences by working with them. I would love to get involved, writing a web series or short script. Hopefully, they’ll message me back!
  4. Wednesday, created a facebook page to promote my works. Don’t forget to “like” me!!
  5. Wednesday, added some new features to my homepage, including a facebook “like” button and facebook comments. Don’t forget to “like” my homepage and to tell me what you think in the comments box!
  6. On twitter, I now have over 200 followers… Thank you, everyone!!
  7. Also, if anyone is interested, you can check out my other tumblr account… just a silly, random collection of things I like.
  8. Picking up my wonderful friend, Ariel, in a few hours… so will be offline in the coming days-ish!

Brief Update

Here is a brief update on my current creative projects and endeavors…!

  1. Tuesday, had successful first meeting with my director Cassie Jaye for our short film Robots Are a Girl’s Best Friend!! Had a chance to bounce ideas off each other, and currently working on revising the script. Planning on filming sometime after September. Wow!!!!!
  2. Didn’t get in to the Provincetown Writing Fellowship. But I’m more than okay with that. I was worried that, if I were to get in, that the fellowship would interfere with my involvement in Robots Are a Girl’s Best Friend. Now, I can dedicate myself fully to this film project!
  3. The Poet and the Flea: 27 pages of written script (1 page of script = 4-6 illustrated pages), and about 26 pages (1-5 completed, and 6-26 in progress) of illustrated work. Would like to begin scanning pages soon — must experiment with my temperamental scanner.
  4. Except for a few issues, my homepage has been revamped… Check it out!
  5. My best friends Ariel (from New York) and Olivia (from Texas) are visiting the first few days of June!! So we’ll be running around San Francisco, doing lots of touristy things. Can’t wait!
