Cannes/London 2013: Monday, May 13th

Pierre & Vacances in La Bocca.

Another view of the pool.

Woke up at 5 a.m., got ready, and watched the sun rise over the endless sea. Breakfast is 6:30 to 7:30 today — had yogurt, fruit, juice! Preparing for a very busy day…

We were taken on a quick tour of town (La Bocca, a neighborhood right next to Cannes proper). Then, we walked along the beach to a local university for “Orientation, Day 1.” I learned some important information about how the Cannes Film Festival works — the theaters, tickets, lines, etc.

Palm trees at the university.

From what I could gather, these were university dorms.

A funky column at the university.

We walked back home along the beach, which was very hot but beautiful. We (Mary, Jacqueline, and I) went grocery shopping and had a bit of wine.

Then we went downstairs for a party with the rest of the program. I chatted with a few nice kids while snacking on some cheese and crackers.

Afterwards, I had a nice time lounging on the balcony.

Another busy day tomorrow.

Walking back home.

Cannes09
