OCTOBER 17th THROUGH 19th!
Since my dad had some free hotel nights, my parents, sister, and I visited New York to celebrate my mom’s birthday and mine!
*************************
Havana Central: We were all starving by the time we got to Havana Central, so the food tasted especially good. I’ve been to this restaurant once before and it has such a great ambiance — now it feels like being on the set of Boardwalk Empire season 5! Plus, since it was an off time, it wasn’t as noisy as it can be.
*************************
Some sights from Bryant Park:
*************************
Hedwig and the Angry Inch : This was my official birthday present! I’ve loved Hedwig ever since I saw the movie in 2001. We were only a few rows back, dead center, just far enough away to avoid being spit on. Michael C. Hall was absolutely incredible in the role and Lena Hall was perfect as Yitzhak. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience!
*************************
“New York, New York, a helluva town!”
*************************
The Morgan Library:
*************************
Fig and Olive:
*************************
MoMA:
These were two truly inspiring exhibits! If you have a chance to visit NYC before March, I would seriously encourage you to go. 😀
*************************
Blue Fin: One of my family’s favorite NYC restaurants — we always seem to go here on family trips. They have the most amazing sushi!
*************************
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time : Another amazing Broadway show. I read the book when it first came out, and they did a fabulous job translating the book to stage. 🙂

Advanced to the Second Round (top 25%) of The 2012 PAGE International Screenwriting Awards.
“…the script is a definite contender for the lab. It’s a unique idea with a capable writer at the helm… a noteworthy project…” –Feedback from the Film Independent Screenwriting Lab 2012
“What a neat and twisted little tale you have here… Even with all the craziness on the page, it never sounded like a campy comedy; instead, it was like a drawing room farce with just enough menace to make the viewer worry about the fate of our hero.” –Feedback from the 2013 BlueCat Screenplay Competition
Screenplays (Short)

Quarter finalist in the 2013 CWA (Creative World Awards).
2nd round qualifier in the Kaos Films British Short Screenplay Competition 2012, judged by Sir Kenneth Branagh.
“Death Is No Bad Friend is a poetic script that relies on imagery to evoke a morose feeling. The language is very well-crafted, with the characters’ style of speech accurate for the time period. Because the descriptions are succinct but also written in a similar style, the script reads easily and quickly while creating clear images of the locations.” –Feedback from the 2014 BlueCat Screenplay Competition.
“…a compelling structure for a short. It heightens the stakes knowing that the protagonist is going to end up in a life-threatening and bloody situation. It also makes the story compact and easy to digest — a great attribute in a short.” –Feedback from the 2014 BlueCat Screenplay Competition.
“Great use of setting here; the circus world is evocative and memorable, and allows the characters to express themselves with very little dialogue. …Overall, an interesting storyline with some sympathetic characters in a fascinating setting.” –Feedback from the 2014 Slamdance Screenplay Competition

The other day, I learned about Tayasui Sketches for iPad and decided to download and play around with this app. Not only is the app free, but also I find it much more intuitive than some of the other drawing apps I’ve tried. So I thought I’d share some of my doodles. Enjoy!
